As a junior botanist for the Smithsonian, Annabelle Larkin has been charged with the impossible task of gaining access to the notoriously private Delacroix plant collection. If she fails, she will be out of a job and the family farm in Kansas will go under. Overall Enjoyment 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Did it grab and keep my attention? 🎣 🎣🎣🎣🎣

Would I recommend it to anyone?  Yes

Would I want a sequel 🕮 🤷 This is Book 1 in Hope and Glory series, followed by A Gilded Lady, then The Prince of Spies. I don't know. We'll see. As much as I liked this one, I have not added the other two to my TBR.

Would I want to read more books by this author 📚  Yes ➕ Reviews say she does her research when it comes to the Historical part of the HF. I'll look her up and see if anything else trips my trigger.

Trigger Warnings 💣💥No

Spice 🌶 No

Plot twist 🌪 Maybe a little

Tidbits - This was totally different historical fiction for me about the spice industry. I liked how they showed the insider view of politics of the food industry and the Department of Agriculture. Good Housekeeping had just entered the arena with their "Seal of Approval" and all of sudden it wasn't about what business men thought, it was about with homemakers thought about products.
I also liked Annabelle's gumption.
