Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry

G👀dreads

Two writers compete for the chance to tell the larger-than-life story of a woman with more than a couple of plot twists up her sleeve.
Two writers to write a biography of a woman no one has seen in years, or at least to meet with the octogenarian who claims to be the Margaret Ives. Tragic heiress, former tabloid princess, and daughter of one of the most storied and scandalous families of the 20th Century.
Margaret is only giving each of them pieces of her story. Pieces they can’t swap to put together because of an ironclad NDA and an inconvenient yearning pulsing between them every time they’re in the same room.
And it’s becoming abundantly clear that their story—just like the tale Margaret’s spinning—could be a mystery, tragedy, or love ballad…depending on who’s telling it.

Genre: Fiction, Contemporary Romance...but... one reviewer said:

"I don’t care how beautiful the prose is (and yes, the writing was gorgeous)—this book is being sold as a romance. It is not a romance. This was women’s fiction with mystery sprinkles and a dry slow-burn subplot that didn’t even simmer. And I say this as someone who eats up slow burns like it’s my full-time job."

We shall see...

I totally enjoyed it. I think the reviewer who said it wasn't romance was high. There is romance, although the story is more about the heiresses life but her story had some romance as well. She's mysterious to say the least and holds her share of secrets.
Drama, mystery, love, lust, yes romance. AND there is some spicy-spice 🌶🌶. And a plot twist. 🌪
