I feel like there was an alternate cover with the two of them in leathers leaning against the back of a vehicle but I can't find it.
UPDATE: Found it. Not a cover but an ad. Not leaning against a vehicle, but a hedge. Hey, I was close! I think it would have made a better cover!

Starting a new life in Florida means year-round sunshine, beautiful beaches, and balmy breezes. For most people, anyway.

But not for thirtysomething Piper and her grandmother, former members of a motorcycle gang in Oregon.

For them, it means entering the witness protection program and moving to Bitter End in the Sunshine State. Yes, to Bitter End. It doesn’t get much more ironic than this.

But hey, it’s better than rotting in jail for getting busted with tax evasion and money laundering, and infinitely better than getting killed by said gang for testifying against them.

Needless to say, they both have difficulties adjusting to life in Florida. Moving into a retirement community and dealing with all those quirky characters? Wearing flip-flops instead of biker boots? Where do you even hide your gun if you’re wearing those godawful muumuu dresses? Not to mention, they’re supposed to keep everything on the right side of the law now? Ugh!

Oh, and there’s that dead body in their neighbor’s front yard. Instead of laying low, Piper and her Gran somehow get sucked into that murder mystery.

When they realize they’re in too deep and their cover is almost blown, they have no other choice but to find the killer before it’s too late.

Another quick one before going back to a HissyFit (Historical Fiction) or Crime.

💻 Tidbits ~ Adorable. Yes, I would want Piper and Gran to be my neighbors! Relocated to a retirement village by the Witnɇss Protɇction Pr0grɐm, Gran won't trade her biker boots for Florida flip flops and Piper can't ignore shenanigans when they set off her radar. 
Piper is the Queen of Epithets. She refers to others as Sourpuss (grumpy lady), Pineapples (lady wearing a pineapple print dress with matching jewelry), hoodie (a suspicious looking person she saw wearing a hoodie). Practically everybody gets a label.

The busybody pie making neighbor's boyfriend who moved away suddenly shows up in her front yard dead. It doesn't take long to adore her. Piper and Gran can't help but get involved investigating. What could possibly go wrong?

Gran, trying to lay low because this was not the future she imagined, gets a suiter and then...did someone mention poker?!?!

No, it's not a mind boggling crime/thriller/mystery.
Yes, it's a cute cozy mystery mixed with comedy and quirky characters for an easy breezy read/listen. 

I'm giving it five stars because I don't have a reason to deduct any. Likeable characters, cute story, entertaining setting, good pace, good narration.
