I don't rate books that I don't finish, but I will say WHY when I've gone past the 20% mark.

💻 Tidbits ~ Out at 25%. Lexi's high school bestie Mara shows up on her doorstep after 16 years of silence between them. She says she's fleeing from her abusive ex and has nowhere to go. She moves in.
Side Note: Have we not already learned that inviting people to move in when they mysteriously show up at your doorstep is not a great idea?!
Shortly thereafter Mara agrees to be Lexi's surrogate. Four days before baby's due date Mara disappears.
Tracked down and abducted by her ex or on her own free will? Is she in danger or is she a baby snatcher? Is she running from an abusive ex or running from something else? 

Ultimately I decided I didn't really care what the answer to my questions was going to be and had slight anxiety that Goose (unborn child) would be okay and not sold to the highest bidder.

I wasn't enjoying the backflashes to high school which seemed very much YA/Coming of Age. People change. Do they even know each other anymore?
