The Wedding Dress Christmas ⭐⭐⭐💫
This one was in a HF book recommendation group. It's not HF. The OP said it's the author's first in The Wedding Collection Series that doesn't go back in time. The About sounds like a Hallmark movie but I'm game to give it a shot. I'm not opposed to Hallmark HEAs, just not what I was expecting when I queued it up. Who knows, it might be a nice little surprise in a holiday bow.
🎉 Overall Enjoyment? 🎉🎉🎉🎊
🎣 Did it grab and keep my attention? 🎣🎣🎣🎏
🗣️Would I recommend it to anyone? Maybe 🤷 If you enjoy a Hallmark holiday movie with a HEA.
🕮 Would I want a sequel? No ➖ This is part of a series but I'm going to skip the others.
📚 Would I want to read more books by this author? Yes ➕
💣💥 📢Trigger Warnings? Past Trauma 💥
🌶 Spice? No
🌪 Plot Twist? No
👟 Pace? Okay, seemed to drag on a little. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but her past trauma was exhausting.
💻 Tidbits ~ The genres didn't label magic or is it the Miracle of Christmas and Faith that makes it magical? Yes, the 100 year old perfect wedding dress carries the Magic of Christmas Miracles.
JoJo's past trauma is ruling her life. Her teenage crush, now super country star, rides into town and is magically madly in love with her and finally confesses he always was.
His race is on to open her heart to love again and her fear fights it every step of the way.
Definite Hallmark Christmas Movie vibes.
Favorite Characters - Her super supportive cousin Haley and Haley's husband Cole.
This novella was only a four hour listen but strangely seemed long.
Spoiler Alert at the end.
