I Died on a Tuesday by Jane Corry

There's the story everyone believes...
and then there's the truth.

...comes another edge-of-your-seat psychological thriller about a harrowing crime, the long-buried secrets surrounding it, and the explosive uncovering of the truth.

18-year-old Janie has the world and her bright future ahead of her. She's about to leave behind the small seaside town she's known all her life to embark on a career in London in book publishing and couldn't be more excited. She'll miss home—especially her dad. They've only had each other since her mother died years earlier. But she's about to start her life and she can't wait.

She's on her way home after her last early dawn swim in the bay when the peaceful stillness of the quiet Tuesday morning is suddenly shattered. A white van careens around the corner and onto the quiet street Janie is riding her bike along, and in one swift moment, her life is forever changed, and her dreams of a new life destroyed. She's brutally run-down by the van and left for dead on the street.

Twenty years later
Robbie Manning, international pop superstar and all-around good guy, answers the front door of his palatial home to a pair of police officers who inform him that he's being arrested for the attempted murder of Janie White. Everyone knows the horrifying story of Janie and what happened to her, and the mystery of who could have done such an awful thing has rattled the world for the last twenty years. But as word of Robbie's arrest spreads, no one—including Robbie's family—can believe it; Robbie is upstanding, a model citizen and family man. He couldn't possibly have committed a hit-and-run that left a young woman paralyzed and unable to speak.

Robbie doesn't deny the accusations. He's been waiting for the truth to come out for the last two decades, and he's ready for his punishment. He deserves it after what he did to Janie . . .

. . . But what if there's more to the story? What if someone else knows what really happened that day?

Janie may be the only one who can reveal the truth—if they can get her to tell her side of the story.

The How/Why: This one was down the rabbit hole. I saw an ad for The Mudlarkers' Club by Jane Riley. Looks interesting. It's not available on Hoopla, but Libby's deep search had it on Notify Me status so I tagged it. BUT Libby, in usual fashion, pulls other options with similar titles, similar topic, or similar author's names. It pulled Jane Corey and I Died on a Tuesday. Sounds interesting. I checked the About and it definitely sounded interesting so I hit Borrow. When I updated GR it only has 3.57 Stars but one of my GR friends gave it 4* and said "I can't say enough about this story but thankfully I didn't miss this one"
Of course, we know by now that that means nothing since my stars don't always align with others.
My TBR list is giving me the side eye, like what about me? Pick me!

👟 Pace? Good but too long (121 Chapters!)

💻 Tidbits ~
At 25% - she had me at plot twist.
At 50% - I'm so mad at Vanessa right now allowing herself to be taken advantage of! And Robbie, it's time to man-up dude.
100% - Dare I say too many plot twists? With so many storylines going on, everyone gets their own twister!

Janie's accident where she was left for dead, but survives an unimaginable fate. S
ubplots and twists with her Mom's disappearance and her Dad's side of the story. Plot twist x3.

Robbie, 20 years later the popular rock star is accused of hit and run and pleads guilty/not guilty. Subplots of his band members secrets, his coerced illegal activities trying to protect his parents, later trying to protect his wife and children. He quickly learns there are very bad people in jail and someone is threatening from beyond. Seriously Robbie, hire body guards!

Vanessa, witness support volunteer assigned to Janie, with her share of baggage. Her controlling husband, now dead but still haunting her. What a piece of work he was! I think he had three plot twist all to himself! Also V's desperate need for family.

Oh, and the judge with a couple of plot twists up his sleeves.
Emmmm, where did that witness come from?
WAIT - that's not all. Who is behind the curtain playing The Great Oz pulling all the strings?

EiYiYi, what a roller coaster.

I deducted one star because of the overcrowded multiple stories and plot twists off the charts. Plus I felt it was a little too long.
It DID keep me riveted though wanting to know how it would all pan out.
