The Retirement Plan by Sue Hinchenbergs

Genre: Fiction, Mystery, Thriller, Humor, Crime
Don't let the cover fool you! Speaking of covers, in one of the editions (German), the book is titled Very Bad Widows. The I in widows is a knifɇ! 🗡😱😰😄
Update: I'm not sure why because a knife was not part of the "plan".

💻 Tidbits ~ Not to be confused with a financial plan for your golden years! I enjoyed this caper. Four couples are friends. One husband dies, the wife gets the life insurance money that she didn't know existed. Her financial woes are solved and she buys a condo in, you guessed it, Florida. Her friends decide their lives would be better off without their husbands too so they hire a hit man. Unbeknownst to them, the husbands have also hired the same hitman because they are trying to survive a crime syndicate from skimming money from the casino. Like a ton of money! What could possibly go wrong?!
I could totally relate to Padma with the bowling shoes. Not only have they been worn by strangers but they are flat. Short girl-germ freak problems!
Justification for hiring a hitman: "Why would she want you dead?" "I ate her Pad Thai". Take note: Don't EVER eat a woman's leftovers!
Words to live by: “We can't just Lucy and Ethel our way through this. We have to be prepared.”
Favorite character: Hector! Who doesn't want an El Salvadoran Barber to "do what needs doing" on their friend's list? I wouldn't mind a sequel with Hector and his wife Brenda as the MCs!
